Megan Lam

Co-founder, Neurum Health

Neuroscientist and clinical psychologist Megan Lam is passionate about helping people with their behavioural health. With Neurum Health, which the Yale and Cornell graduate co-founded with her business partner Caleb Chiu, she could rightly be considered a pioneer in the mental-health space.

Armed with artificial intelligence, Neurum democratises psychological care through personalised solutions, the only app on the market to do so. “As a personal wellness companion that looks after the mind and lifestyle of each unique user, it’s designed to be deployed by enterprises to maintain the wellbeing of any organisation,” Lam says. “It’s empathetic, interactive, personal and proactive in addressing the needs of busy and dynamic individuals.” The app relies on an extensive base of research-backed evidence that enables the creation of tailor-made experiences and tips on improving behavioural health, and the 87.8 percent of users who find Neurum’s recommendations “relevant and useful” is a testament to the real impact it has on the community.

And the users aren’t the only ones who recognise Neurum’s benefits. Earlier this year, Lam and her team received Cartier’s Honourable Global Social Impact Award, which she calls “a moment to recognise the great efforts of the Neurum Health team in ensuring as we’re making leaps forward – we aren’t leaving people behind.”

Another important aspect in Lam’s life is her commitment to helping the community, which is precisely why she joined KELY Support Group, a local non-profit organisation focusing on drug and alcohol awareness, mental health and positive youth development, as a board member. She also formed a partnership between Neurum and Bethune House, which “grants complimentary access to our platform’s digital programmes and human professionals for 600 migrant women workers in emotional distress”. She adds that “the service’s partners can also pledge unused Human Credits to be used with our community beneficiaries”.
