Edan Lui

Singer and actor

As a member of one of Hong Kong’s most popular boy groups Mirror, Edan Lui rose to stardom after taking eighth place on ViuTV’s reality talent competition Good Night Show – King Maker. The achievement led him to joining Mirror in 2018, which Lui followed with his own solo debut in early 2021. That same year, his first single, “Mr E’s Series of Unfortunate Events”, topped the 903 Top 20 list, the Metro Radio Madden Song Chart and the Chill Club chart, earning him the Newcomer Award at the Metro Radio Hit Awards, the Silver Newcomer Award at the Ultimate Song Chart Awards, and the Silver Newcomer Award at the Chill Club Chart Awards. This month, Lui played his first ever solo concert, titled In My Sight of E, at the AsiaWorld-Expo, to raving reviews.

Beyond singing and dancing, Lui has ventured into acting, showcasing his talents on the big screen in films that include Chilli Laugh Story (in which he also sang on the soundtrack), When Life Gives You Chillies – Hong Kong Family and Over My Dead Body, as well as Ooops! The Adventure Continues and Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank as voice actor.

“When I was young, I was a huge fan of Jay Chou, who inspired me immensely with his music. My favourite styles and genres were all inspired by him – even types that I’d like to produce now,” Lui says. “After several years working with seasoned veterans of entertainment, such as Louis Koo, Teresa Mo, Sandra Ng, Ronald Cheng and Gigi Leung, I’ve managed to learn from their passion, professionalism, and determination to pass on their knowledge to a newer generation of artists. Their knowledge, skill and wisdom have influenced me greatly for my own future plans.”
