Lamborghini in collaboration with Renazzo Motor Co., Ltd hosted a star-studded evening at the Plenary Hall, Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, to celebrate the Marque’s 60th anniversary. Although the event saw plenty of notable moments, the biggest highlight was the reveal of the revolutionary Lamborghini Revuelto for the first time in the kingdom.
At the end of July, Automobili Lamborghini, led by Region Director for the Asia Pacific, Francesco Scardaoni, hosted a glamorous event to commemorate 60 years since the Marque’s establishment. The event was hosted together with Renazzo Motor Co., Ltd., the sole dealer and after-sales service provider for Lamborghini in the kingdom, established by Chief Executive Officer, Apichat Leenutaphong; Director, Sak Nana; and M.L. Ploynapat Leenutaphong.
Centred around the theme of ‘From Now On,’ the event celebrated Lamborghini’s history while giving attendees a glimpse into the automaker’s exciting plans for the future. The hall was fitted with installations and model showcases that invited guests on a walk-through of the success stories behind several V12 engine vehicles including the Diablo, the Murcielago 40th Anniversary, the Aventador SV LP750-4 Coupe, the Aventador LP700-4 Coupe, the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster, and the Aventador Ultimate Coupe.
Looking towards the future, the event put focus on Lamborghini’s decision to introduce hybrid vehicles to its portfolio of impressive vehicles, thus ushering in a new era of sustainability in line with global demand. The main highlight of the evening was the unveiling of the Lamborghini Revuelto, the Marque’s ‘High-Performance Electrified Vehicle’ (HPEV), a plug-in hybrid sports car with a high-performance V12 engine.
The Revuelto was designed to break the mould, defining a new paradigm as to what hybrid cars of the future can look like. What sets it apart from its predecessors is its new architecture and innovative design that prioritises maximum efficiency aerodynamics complete with a new carbon frame concept produced by artisans employed at the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory.
The car can deliver 1,015 horsepower that is delivered from the combined power of a new combustion engine together with three electric motors. Moreover, a double-clutch gearbox makes its debut on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini for the first time. The choice of material and the design of the engine gives the Revuelto the best weight-to-power ratio of any Lamborghini car in history.
The Revuelto also surpasses its many competitors in this particular segment, with the capability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometres an hour in only 2.5 seconds; it can reach 200 kilometres per hour in less than 7 seconds; and has a top speed of more than 350 kilometres an hour.
Speaking about the launch and Lamborghini’s success in Thailand, Francesco Scardaoni, Region Director for the Asia Pacific, had this to say: “Thailand is a keystone market in Southeast Asia and I am delighted to present the Revuelto to fans in the kingdom as it ushers in a new era of super sports car evolution during the transition to hybrids.
“It also marks a significant milestone in Lamborghini’s 60th-anniversary celebrations. I believe that this model gives our brand a new definition and demonstrates our capabilities to take one step further in revolutionising the automotive world with our signature V12 engine.”
Sharing similar sentiments, Apichat Leenutaphong, CEO of Renazzo Motor said: “To commemorate the special occasion of the 60th anniversary of the carmaker this year, Lamborghini is taking us across the boundaries of history and into the future with the launch of the Lamborghini Revuelto, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid super sports car with a high-performance V12 engine.
“This is considered an important technological intersection for Lamborghini to overcome the limits of performance while maintaining the timeless and unique design identity associated with Lamborghini. We are certain this latest model will surpass existing driving experiences and will surely be well received by Lamborghini fans across the country.”
The evening saw several honorary guests in attendance including Araya “Chompoo” A. Hargate, Lamborghini’s first official brand ambassador for Thailand. Other notable attendees included Sara Lamsam, Visrut Rangsisingpipat, Chalermchai Mahagitsiri, Akapat Phornprapha, Piyalert Baiyoke, and many more who have been vocal bull fans over the years.
